Snake Removal in Tomball, Texas
If you find a snake at your Tomball house, step back, bring children and pets inside, and keep an eye on where it goes without getting any closer. Michael Gerbino of Cypress Critters & Pests removes snakes from garages, sheds, barns, flower beds and homes in Tomball, then looks for the rodents and the gaps that brought it there and closes them. Call Michael at 713-775-8799 and say where you last saw it.
Why do snakes show up at Tomball houses next to open land?
Snakes go where food and cover are, and the edges of Tomball have plenty of both. Pasture and acreage hold mice, rats, frogs and lizards, and tall grass along a back fence gives a snake cover right up to the yard. When open land is cleared for new streets, the animals that lived on it have to go somewhere, and the new yard next door is close. Older properties near downtown see snakes too, mostly around sheds, woodpiles and garages where rodents already live.
| Where it turns up | Why it is there | What to do while you wait |
|---|---|---|
| Along a back fence facing pasture | Tall grass and rodents moving in from open land | Keep pets in and watch it from the patio |
| Garage | Mice coming in at a worn door corner | Close the door into the house and keep everyone out of the garage |
| Barn, shed or feed room | Rodents feeding on stored grain or feed | Shut the door and leave bags and boards where they are |
| Woodpile or stacked lumber | Cool, dark gaps and little foot traffic | Leave the pile alone and note which side it went in |
| Inside the house | A gap under an exterior door, a dryer vent or an AC line chase | Close that room and set a towel along the bottom of the door |
Is the snake in my Tomball yard venomous?
Do not try to tell up close. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s venomous snake safety page names copperheads, cottonmouths, rattlesnakes and the coral snake as the venomous snakes of Texas. Many snakes found around homes are harmless, but in grass or shadow they can be hard to tell apart, so treat every snake as if it could be dangerous. TPWD’s own advice on that page is plain: “Please do not kill a snake – even a venomous one.” Getting close enough to kill it is how people get bitten. If anyone is bitten, call 911.
How Michael handles it here
He removes the snake with the right tools while everyone stays back. Then he looks for why it came: rodent sign in the garage or barn, the cover it was using, and the gap it came through. Garage door corners, vent screens, AC line chases and the skirting under sheds are sealed, and the space under a deck or shed can be closed with mesh buried along the edge. Since rodents are what draw most snakes, the lasting fix is the sealing work on the animal exclusion page. On acreage, he also points out the strip of tall grass along the fence and any feed stored where rodents can reach it. The main snake removal page covers how he handles snakes anywhere, and the Tomball page has the rest of his work in town.
If you can still see it, call 713-775-8799 and keep watching from a safe spot.

Questions people ask about snakes in Tomball
Why do I keep seeing snakes along my back fence in Tomball?
A fence that faces pasture or open land is where two kinds of ground meet. Tall grass on the far side hides rodents, frogs and lizards, and the snake follows them toward your yard. Mowing a wide strip along the fence, moving woodpiles and stored materials away from it, and dealing with rodents on your side all make that edge less useful to a snake.
Can I leave a snake alone if it is out in the yard?
If it is in open grass and moving away from the house, giving it room and keeping pets inside is often enough. Texas Parks and Wildlife asks people not to kill snakes. If it is in the garage, the house, a shed you use, or anywhere children play, call Michael to remove it and to find out what drew it close.
Do snakes get into barns and feed rooms on Tomball acreage?
They do, because that is where the rodents are. Stored grain and feed draw mice and rats, and snakes follow them in. Keeping feed in sealed metal bins, clearing clutter along the walls and closing gaps at the base of the building cut down on both. Michael can remove a snake from a barn or shed and seal the openings the rodents use.
What should I do if a snake gets inside the house?
Get people and pets out of that room, close the door behind you and set a towel along the bottom of it. Do not move furniture or boxes to look for the snake. Call Michael and tell him which room it is in and where you last saw it. He removes it and then finds the gap it came through.
